You may be eligible for Homebase services if you:
Live in one of the five boroughs of NYCMay be soon at risk of entering the NYC shelter systemWant to remain stably housed in your communityIf you think you need Homebase services, contact a local office so they can review your specific situation and offer support. Even if you are not eligible, Homebase can help you find resources that might be helpful.
Required Documents
These are the documents you need to bring on your first appointment. If you don't have all of these documents, Homebase can still assess your case and help.
ID for all household members 18 years or olderProof of income/employment for every working member of the household (recent paystubs dated within 30 days of Homebase appointment)If you have an active Cash Assistance (CA) case, bring a CA Budget Letter or Welfare Management System (WMS) printout dated within 30 daysUnemployment letterSupplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability (SSD) Award Letter, dated within the last yearCopy of lease or written rental agreementRental Assistance referral, certificate, voucher, or award letterRent demand, landlord letter, or court documentsLight, gas, and telephone bill
How to Apply
Find a Homebase location by calling 311 or viewing the HomeBase map (https://www1.nyc.gov/site/hra/help/homebase-locations.page) and searching by your zip code.Call to schedule a meeting with a Homebase representative. In person appointments must be scheduled in advance.Bring as many of the application documents as you can to your first appointment. Having all the documents is not required to receive help.Note: If you have children, you do not need to bring them with you. However, you should bring their identification documents.
