The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) and the Office of School Health (OSH) is a joint program that provides a wide range of health and well-being services, including neighborhood- and school-based health clinics.

Your Child’s School
Talk to your child’s teacher to learn about the health services at your school. MTalk to your child’s teacher to learn about the health services at your school. Most schools have an on-site nurse who can help your child with their health needs. Some schools have a School-Based Health Center (SBHC) that can treat temporary illnesses like headaches and sore throats. An SBHC can also help with chronic conditions like diabetes and asthma. The services are free to students, regardless of insurance or immigration status.

If you need mental health support, text WELL to 65173 or call 1-888-NYC-WELL to get connected to a counselor. You can talk about problems like stress, depression, anxiety, or drug and alcohol misuse.
